Library Resources & Terms of Use: Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

About Interlibrary Loan

What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL): This service allows borrowing of physical items or articles the library doesn’t own/have access to from another library. ILL expands available resources to almost unlimited numbers IF given enough time to use it.

Does it cost anything: No, but non-returned items incur a replacement and $50 non-waivable handling fee per item.

How long does it take: This varies. VERY generally, physical items are received in about ten (10) days, and articles are often received within a day or two.

Due dates and renewals: Due dates and renewals are determined by the lending library. Please strictly observe due dates. Contact Nicolet College Library prior to the due date if a renewal is required; however, the request could be denied.

How do I place an ILL request: Use this link to request items via ILLor contact the library directly. Provide as much information as possible about the item needed, especially the author(s) name(s) and title.

Please contact us with any questions or if you need assistance with interlibrary loan.

Distance Student Request

At no cost to you, the Nicolet College Library will attempt to work with your local library to send items there for pick up if you find it difficult to get to campus to check out something the Library owns. If a request can’t be filled, you are notified as soon as possible.
