What is Interlibrary Loan: Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a service offered at Nicolet College Library that allows students, staff and faculty to borrow items such as books, films, music and other physical items that the Library doesn't own from another library. We can also use ILL to obtain copies of articles that the Library doesn't have access to. This service expands the resources available to you as you are doing your research projects to almost unlimited numbers IF you give yourself enough time to use it.
Does it cost anything: Using ILL service doesn't cost our guests anything UNLESS items become overdue. Overdue fines for ILL items accrue at $1.00 per day. Please strictly observe the due date on ILL items. Renewal MAY be possible, but it is at the lending library's discretion. If you wish to request a renewal, please contact Nicolet College Library prior to the due date and understand that the request could be denied.
How long does it take: This depends on a few factors, including how long it takes the other library/libraries to respond, how far away they are and how the items are sent. Typically, we can get physical items within about 10 days, but it could take longer. Sometimes, we receive articles within a few hours of placing the request, but it often takes at least a day or two, and could be even longer.
How do I place an ILL request: You can call the library or e-mail us using LibraryInfo@nicoletcollege.edu; or use this link to request books, dvds, cds or other physical items, or this link to request articles from journals or magazines. The forms are also linked below. Please give us as much information as you can about whatever it is you need, especially the author(s) name(s) and the title.

The Nicolet College Library has thousands of books, DVDs, music CDs and Great Courses to offer, but some of our students may find it difficult to get to the college to check out these items.
We now have a form to request physical items from our library to be sent to a local (to you) library at no cost to you. However, this service is limited by our ability to work with your local library for this purpose. We may not be able to fill every request. If we are not able to fill a request, we will notify you as soon as possible.
This is a new service, and there are likely to be bugs in this system. Your patience is appreciated.
